A replacement DPF runs 800-1500 pounds. EGR valve carbon fouling commonly accompanies it, and the diesel dual-mass flywheel is a further known wear item on these cars, so budget for the drivetrain as a whole on a neglected example

DVSA recall R/2025/511 covers Takata airbag inflators on the Astra J: "the chemicals in the Takata airbag inflators may deteriorate over time. This may cause the inflators to rupture with too much force in a crash leading to serious injury or death in a worst-case scenario."
